Greetings, fellow Corsairs. The name is Donatello- otherwise and more commonly known as and referred to as Donnie.

For those of you who know me, I am a bit of a tinkerer and help out with things in the Armory. As an ongoing project I've been testing out a different design for the ENC- that is the Ether Network Communicators, which allows for hands to be free while making use of communications. Perhaps you've already seen me using my own.

[He holds a finger up before the visuals shift a bit as he moves, or rather the communicator is, showing his other hand and the gauntlet-like device he holds.]

This is what my current device looks like. It can be worn on either forearm, and basically...

[The video blurs again as he has to move his other hand to flip up the cover, but soon it shows the device again, showing the similar features of your standard ENC, nestled between almost artfully placed conductors.]

The ether stone is here, and allows for quicker, consistent charging since the device is in contact with you. This is the screen, and this is the QWERTY input, and this is where audio is both received and projected.

[He holds it there for a moment before flipping it closed with his thumb, setting it somewhere aside as the feed itself shifts back to the turtlekin-teen who all at once looks a bit shy then.]

Um. So... Basically I am offering to upgrade devices if anyone is interested. I think it would be especially useful during missions, although I can't guarantee that I'll have a lot ready before whenever our next one may be. Materials for such are easier to acquire so production won't be a problem.

I do have to stress that just because it is shaped like a piece of armor, I do not suggest making use of it as such. While it's sturdy enough to take a hit, the components it houses are more fragile. Not irreplaceable, but it's better to avoid the problem if you can. ....I....am getting ahead of myself again, aren't I.

That would be most helpful. I often do find my hands being otherwise occupied during these missions.

I figure it'd be easier to coordinate with people while you're on the move. I've certainly found it useful.

If you're interested, if you could stop by the Armory whenever possible, I'll need to take some measurements to make sure it'll fit your arm and wrist.

Huh...that'd be real handy if we got our hands full. Hm...Ah'd rather not be without a vambrace, though...do ya think we could make it work with it? Ah think it'd have to be my lance arm for it.

[She can shift her shield onto the arm so she can type at her left hand, but if she were to try to have the device on her right arm...it'd be protected, but she'd still have to not be holding onto her lance. (Not to mention the things she doesn't think about, like the camera being obstructed and such.)]

Technically it's a vambrace, but I can understand that concern, especially given my mentioned points.

Ideally it should work on either arm, I'd just have to make sure it fits well enough for you like a standard armor piece. No good if it's flopping around, right? But it also depends on what you aim to do with it.

It's supposed to make things easier to talk to others, but I'd suggest doing anything more like using the keypad or the image capture would be better done outside of actual combat, or at least when you aren't directly engaging with anyone under risky circumstances.

Oooh... can you make it so the attachments stretch?

Stretch? What attachment do you mean? The part going around your arm?

Yeah.

My magic lets me change my shape. Normally the stuff I'm holding... [hard to explain with a language barrier]... just is gone until I turn back, but I can keep it out. I can't talk unless I'm in my normal form, but I can still listen.

Wow, really? Hmm.

Are there limitations to what form you can change to? How big? Because unfortunately there will be limitations so far as flexibility. I can probably work out something to an extent, but it would still have to actually fit on you when you're not in a different form.

Animals. There's a few really big ones I can't do, but I can also just show off some of my favorites for fighting. If I'm scouting or running, I'm probably going to try and look like a normal animal.

That sounds amazing. ...and a pretty broad range. I think it might be tricky. I can make it flexible to an extent if I swap out the bracer attachment for something more like jewelry extensions. That way it can accommodate slightly larger sizes, but again, it wouldn't be any extreme range without breaking.

If you do that, would it be worth having multiple options, so I can swap in the field? That way if I really need to keep the device, I can switch to a bigger cord?

Hmm. I suppose that wouldn't be too difficult, just an extra set of places to loop a cord through.

Of course, I needed to head that way to get something modified anyways.

[It is about an hour by the time Harlock makes his way to the armory, the rapier that is usually strapped to his hip is nowhere in sight. The pirate knocks to let the turtlekin know he arrived]

[Donnie's off to the side where it's a little quieter, goggles down as he works at assembling the main components of a communicator board. He doesn't look up until he's got things set and secured.]

Hey Captain.

[He nods in greeting - a split second his expression seem to soften at being called Captain]

Well I'm here to get measured, how long would the process take?

Not long. Just gotta make sure I have the width and the curve right.

[He picks up a roll of measuring tape, stepping over as he gestures at his own wrist.]

Just have to take the widest and the narrowest sides, so wrist and forearm. Length might not hurt either, it would be good to get those numbers in case there needs to be any drastic adjustments.

[He nods as he considers before holding out his left arm as he finds a seat]

I would not have minded if it did take a bit, they said it might take some time to modify my weapon to my specifications.

Oh! I thought you meant taking measurements. [Donnie laughs a little.]

It depends, but I'm estimating that it still shouldn't take too long. Not nearly as long as weapon modification. There's a lot more that goes into that. What were you getting modified?

[He does a quick job of taking Harlock's arm measurements, the numbers committed to memory until he's taken everything, and then he finally records them.]

No, no, it's fine. It brings up a lot of things I hadn't considered.

I will still need to measure your arm to make sure it'll fit even when you're not form-shifting, of course. If you are in the Vault, I'm in the Armory. Of course if that's not possible right away, you can also just send me the measurements for your wrist and forearm, and the length between.

It'd be preferable, but I know it's not a quick trip. It'll be quicker if you can just get me the numbers, and then I can get things started so that there's something for you to try.

Well, I do not think I can copy my original sword without some specific parts. If I can not do that, I will have it electrified.
