2nd Quest: Stop Standing In The Mechanics

I hear we have a fight on our hands.

I'll try to join on the front lines, but more importantly, I'd like to know who here is a healer, who here is a doctor - surgeons, apothecaries, people with skill and knowledge of healing rather than magical healers - and what we'll need to help fighters after the battle.

This is part of the reason I started up the spa in the first place and I can make part of it available for this purpose after hours.

Do not fret. I am not one who shies away from such things. My role is to stabilize and and support as many of our combatants as possible. I am well accustomed to it.

What sort of healing are you experienced with?

Part of my duties as a mendicant monk of the god Sylphan was to act as healer. I can use my magic to close wounds and knit together muscle; I'm far better at it when I can lay on hands and combine my magic with massage.

I'm not a professional surgeon and my ability to diagnose and treat disease is extremely limited.

It sounds as if we have fairly similar specialties. I cannot treat extensive battle injuries either - or anything as serious as a limb removal.

Who is Sylphan? Does this god grant you such abilities?

On Mundus, I vowed to him to protect the lost of my world and those they travelled with from each other, to heal the sick and to humble and humiliate tyrants; and in return the Laughing Wind and Trickster-Fox ranted me spells to heal, to buff allies, to reinforce my body, and to command his winds.

Sylphan is a trickster and the patron god of Mundane foxkin. He loves freedom and hates slavers.

Yes, he absolutely wants me to humiliate the Empire and all other tyrants.

Hm. I have not heard of a god with such specific aims before. But I cannot say I disapprove.

There are similar troubles in the world you come from?

In both my homeworld and the world I came from. Sad to say I think it’s a universal problem.

Of course, there’s never a lack of people ready and willing to deal with it. I try to focus on that.

It does seem to be the case that there is ever an entity who has amassed more power than they ought. Perhaps that is a universal truth about humanity.

[Which begs the question of why the decent ones never seem to manage to keep things under control, but that veers into a philosophical query that suggests that evil tyrants will always rise because good people have no desire for overwhelming power themselves.]

But our immediate goal is to survive this current onslaught. I wish we had a strategy to minimize casualties instead of expecting the worst.
