Everyone knows that the empire wiped most of the dragons out ages ago. If any survived, they went deep into hiding or fled to distant lands. But even so, I’m wondering if anyone in the revolution has had any encounters with dragons. Or even any dragon-like creatures?

This…would have been recent. Maybe within the last month.

The Empire killed them all. Or at least most of them. Maybe some are still in hiding somewhere. This one only exists because of horrific misuse of magic.

Well, I don't know exactly what they did, but if I had been assigned to do it, I would have taken a preserved body of a dead dragon and fused a human's body and soul to it so as to give it life and will. But since I'm making a weapon for the Empire because I am hypothetically a heartless and evil mage, I would build control mechanisms into the spell so that the resulting chimera was unable to disobey any orders given by an appropriate authority figure.

Knowing how to do something isn't the same thing as being willing to do it.

[Because the spells they used to transform Falin were based on her own research. Not that she particularly wanted to advertise that. Marcille didn't advertise a lot of things.]
