Why are you fighting the Empire?

I'm not questioning your cause I just want to know. Millions of people live average lives in the Empire without wondering why things are the way they are.

What did they do to you that made it so you can't rest anymore?

I don't want them to find or hurt my family.

They lie to a lot of people. What did they tell you?

They said they'd use my design ideas to help people. Guess it's not a total lie if they're technically helping themselves.

So you're a crafter of some sort?

[purplexing]

Kind of? I think it's called engineer?

Same difference. What did you design that they stole?

That's where they tricked me. They'd at first ask about things like my thoughts on how to improve something, make something operate more smoothly or work better. By the time I realized they were employing those ideas into weaponry, they'd stopped asking nicely.

And now you feel like you have to work for the Corsairs until you've done enough good to undo all the evil they've done with your work?

[purplexing]

No. Now that I know how the Empire is, I can't just go back to how things were. I don't want my family pulled into everything either. So if the Corsairs can change things and if I can help somehow, then I'd rather be doing something than nothing.

Thanks. Hopefully they haven't been found. I never said anything about them when I got caught by Imperials, but...I don't know if my brothers or my dad ever tried looking for me.

Having never met them, I couldn't say.

[Donnie's not really sure what he'd want to hear anyway. If they tried looking for him that would increase their chances of being found out. But then maybe his father might be spurred into action and take his remaining sons into hiding, which would mean they'd be safe but... he's not sure how he'd feel about that.
