[It’s been a few months since Nephenee’s been tugged into this world, but up til now, she’s…kinda done what she tends to do when in new situations, and that is focus on her job, and hermit. She’s not really introduced herself to many, mostly staying in the back and occasionally piping up when needed, always in practical clothing and under a hat obscuring her face in some shadow, like she’s trying to hide, and doing her job of taking care of critters and beating up people that need beating up. She certainly hasn’t introduced herself on the network or to the Corsairs at large.
After this last planning and execution cycle, though? She’s gotten her armour back, and her best lance (among some other things), and it’s helped her to regain some confidence (Mostly because they’re a security blanket of sorts…). She’s practiced for this, and wants to finally try to get to know people!
When the feed comes on, the first sight for folks is the wooden ceiling above, then the camera quickly wiggling around as she tries to center the view. When the woman does get it to show her, they’ll see a cabin like that in Flotsam dotted here and there with flowers in pots, light filtering in from a window off-screen. A tall, lovely, lean-muscled woman in armour with fair skin & long green hair covered by the helm obscuring part of her face sits there, a possibly familiar shield against the wall behind her to the right, and two polearms on the wall, a metal one that looks like the head’s been broken off, and a regal halberd. She gives a small bow with her head and upper torso like she’s seen Shu and others back home do. Right…she can do this!
When she speaks, it’s with some hesitance, and with a soft, warm, sweet voice like warm apple pie that sounds like a mixture of country and something like the Chūgoku dialect of Japan, sort of like someone from Hiroshima? But also a little like the Carolinas in the States. It's an odd mixture.]
H-Hi, everyone. Um, apologies for…not introducin’ myself ‘fore now…lot goin’ on, ya know?
[A lot of shyness and turtling, more like (no offense intended to our resident turtlekin, of course).]
Um, Ah’m Nephenee, from Crimea, on the continent o’Tellius…Ah’m a Sentinel an’ guard under Her Majesty, Queen Elincia, an’ Ah’m stationed in Flotsam. [Belatedly, she realizes her own title may not be translating properly.] Er, that is…Sorry, not used to the words here yet. Um, Sentinels are…uh, Ah think it got described to me as Elite Lancers who stride battlefields with calm an' surety?
[She’s underselling the first word; it’s better translated “Legendary”. But regardless, the calm and surety part is in direct opposition to her presentation and how she feels.]
A-Anyway, Ah’m lookin’ for folks to train with, an’ learn new stuff from? There’s…a lotta stuff here Ah ain’t used to, an’ Ah’d like to learn how to do more stuff, an’ how to defend against all this stuff Ah ain’t used to. Um, Ah have a bow, too, but Ah’m not as good with that. Um, my first halberd here broke [She hooks a thumb back at that broken polearm], so if anyone's...good at hand-to-hand, Ah'd sure like to know how to do that...
Um, also…Ah’d…like to get to know folks? Ah’m also a farmer back home, so…Ah know a lot ‘bout plants an’ animals, an’ things like cookin’ an’...other country stuff. [She rubs that back of her neck mentioning that, eyes that look to be perhaps green darting away for a moment, but presses on.] Like…cookin’ an’ bakin’ an’ makin’ stuff. Um, Ah also like tea, have a buncha blends o’it already…an’...um, Ah’d…like to have folks over for tea or lunch some time?
[She’s kind of hit her limit, now, so the rest comes out a bit too fast.]
A-Anyway, A-Ah look forward to meetin’ an’ gettin’ to know all y’all!
[And she hurriedly turns off the feed, flustered and muttering in another language about her poor grammar and word choices.]

[There's a sound like someone running their finger across paper nearby.]
Ah'm free Monday though Thursday in the afternoons 'less somethin' comes up. Maybe 'round 4 or so? Gives us some time 'fore dinner, an' it ain't gettin' dark early yet...
[That'll change soon, but for now, they're alright.]

[His tone is dry, as if amused at a personal little joke.]
Tuesdays, then, around four o'clock. Shall we meet at the Vault farms?
Fast forward to Tuesday?
That sounds good! See ya then?
Ye!
[And so the weekend and a day passes; Rezo works, rests, and tries his best to remember how to be a teacher before he's actually called upon.
When Tuesday rolls around by four o'clock sharp Rezo is waiting by one of the Vault's fields, listening idly to the farmers at work. True to his description, he's carrying a long, ringed staff.]

Tuesday comes, and Nephenee arrives promptly on-schedule, quickly spotting the staff and the man holding it. Damn, he sure is a tall guy with a staff in a loud outfit. What is it with magic users and being a bit bright sometimes? (Looking at you, Calill.)
Regardless, she comes up behind him.]
Sir Rezo?
no subject
He turns around at Nephenee's approach, and when she speaks a warm smile blooms on his face. His eyes remain shut.]
Ah, Miss Nephenee. You found me.
no subject
His warm smile sure is nice, and nets him one of her own. The eyes...don't mean much at the moment, because frankly, one of her paladin buddies back home, Oscar, seems to have his shut all the time. She figures that he was just squinting or something, honestly, given how good the guy is in battle, so she (mistakenly) assumes similar here. Her smile carries in her voice as she speaks.]
Well, given you're taller than me an' usin' that staff ya mentioned, you're easy to spot.
[Sure, it's not that unusual for a guy to be taller than her, but at 5'11" barefoot (and about 6', 6'1" with her armour), she's not at all a shrimp herself.]
Nice to meet ya in-person. Hope Ah didn't keep ya long.
no subject
It hasn't been long at all. Likewise, it's a pleasure to meet you.
[With pleasantries established, it's time for business.]
I thought we could head to the Academy for our practice. There's always a few training rooms to spare, and if I try throwing a fireball here the farmers will be quite cross with us.
no subject
Bein' a farmer myself, Ah'd hafta agree with 'em...trainin' rooms seem best.
[Though she's really not sure she's going to be throwing fireballs herself, she knows from the folks back home that it's absolutely no joke. Well, and using fire magic some herself in a very limited capacity...She gestures for him to lead them.]
Off we go, then?
no subject
[Rezo walks at a leisurely pace, taking smaller steps than a man his height normally might. But there's no hesitation when he starts walking either. He practices at the academy regularly enough to be familiar with the route there, and he's made a point of acquainting himself with the layout of Vault.]
You said you used enchanted lances in the past, correct? But you've never directly cast a spell?
no subject
Far as Ah know, yeah. There's a couple different 'enchanted' lances back home, like the Wishblade here, but it ain't what has fire magic. That's the Flame Lance. Ain't used books or nothin'...
no subject
How do the enchantments work? [Rezo's made forays into enchanted weapons and armor before, though he wouldn't consider it his area of expertise.]
no subject
Uuuuuh...
[Squeak squeak squeak goes the hamster wheel.]
Ah...bop someone with it an' they get burnt instead o'jus' slashed or stabbed?
[Nailed it.]
no subject
I see. So there isn't a special method to activate the enchantment.
[He strokes his chin thoughtfully.] Perhaps fire magic would be a good place to start? Since you already have experience using heat as a weapon.
