[The green-skinned teenager clears his throat once the recorder is activated, doing his best to look professional about this.]
Greetings, fellow Corsairs. The name is Donatello- otherwise and more commonly known as and referred to as Donnie.
For those of you who know me, I am a bit of a tinkerer and help out with things in the Armory. As an ongoing project I've been testing out a different design for the ENC- that is the Ether Network Communicators, which allows for hands to be free while making use of communications. Perhaps you've already seen me using my own.
[He holds a finger up before the visuals shift a bit as he moves, or rather the communicator is, showing his other hand and the gauntlet-like device he holds.]
This is what my current device looks like. It can be worn on either forearm, and basically...
[The video blurs again as he has to move his other hand to flip up the cover, but soon it shows the device again, showing the similar features of your standard ENC, nestled between almost artfully placed conductors.]
The ether stone is here, and allows for quicker, consistent charging since the device is in contact with you. This is the screen, and this is the QWERTY input, and this is where audio is both received and projected.
[He holds it there for a moment before flipping it closed with his thumb, setting it somewhere aside as the feed itself shifts back to the turtlekin-teen who all at once looks a bit shy then.]
Um. So... Basically I am offering to upgrade devices if anyone is interested. I think it would be especially useful during missions, although I can't guarantee that I'll have a lot ready before whenever our next one may be. Materials for such are easier to acquire so production won't be a problem.
I do have to stress that just because it is shaped like a piece of armor, I do not suggest making use of it as such. While it's sturdy enough to take a hit, the components it houses are more fragile. Not irreplaceable, but it's better to avoid the problem if you can. ....I....am getting ahead of myself again, aren't I.
Uh, Donnie out.
[And his free hand reaches over to cut the transmission.]

The turtlekin still stares at him like he's a ghost before shaking his head, moving to pick up his things. "Well, I guess I can't complain about your promptness." He tilts his head as he wonders if that's the correct use of the word before nodding to himself.
"Anyway, arm."
no subject
He does, however, promptly raise his left arm. Then looks at it, and frowns faintly.
"...Will it be in the way of my shield?"
no subject
"...where would your shield's straps be? Although it might be a problem if you can't open it. Nephenee asked if it could be used on the other arm, which wouldn't be a problem."
His expression twists in annoyance, not turned towards Link, but at himself. The turtlekin sighs frustratedly, running a hand across his face. "Argh, there's just so much I hadn't considered..." But he feels he should have, because not everyone operates the same way, Donatello!

There's two straps on the back of the shield, through which Link has slipped his arm.
He does glance at his right up, however. He could just put it on his right arm. He'd thought to put it on his left arm because he was left arm, but maybe the other way would be better...?
"Do you need to tap it?" he asks.
no subject
"Huh?" He blinks at Link, trying to pull his thoughts back from the several directions they'd been drifting.
"Yes, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. I could make it to sit right between the straps, and essentially it'd be better off there since it'd also be extra protected..." he says as he studies the placement, pulling out his measuring tape.
no subject
"Right arm," he says firmly, lowering his shield and instead holding out his right arm for Donnie to measure. If he has to tap at it, that's not going to work on his shield arm at all. He'd want to be able to tap with his left hand.
no subject
Well, if Link thinks it'll work out better on that side... Donnie shrugs, reaching over to wrap the tape around the outstretched arm, first around Link's wrist and then a little further up before he takes the length between them.
"All right, that should do it."
no subject
"How long?" he asks.
no subject
He picks out some remnants of a vambrace, eyeballing it before he starts to measure it out as well.
"I think...I can possibly have something for you by the end of the day," he says. Yes, this piece might work nicely.
no subject
So Link nods at Donnie. Says, "Bye". And then runs off, apparently to do something else while he waits for Donnie to finish.
But at the end of the day, he does indeed return - with another "Hi."
no subject
By the end of the day he's still pretty much in the same place, but there's a finished ENC bracer there on the table. The metal has an iridescent finish that's mostly blue, result of literally playing with fire.
The turtlekin looks up from where he's working on the settings of another piece. He wipes the back of his hand across his forehead, grinning a bit at Link.
"Hey. Try that," he says, nodding towards the table.
no subject
Putting it on, Link waves his arm around to see how it feels. Is it comfortable? Is it heavy?
no subject
"How does it feel?" Donnie asks. He's still getting used to making things for people, but he's never been one to skimp on quality. "Too loose? Too heavy? Should I use leather instead of metal for the attachment?"
no subject
"Leather's comfortable," he says. "But metal's nice." It was almost a bit like wearing big chunky jewellery. And Link did like wearing jewellery.

(Donnie didn't say those two, but he's gotten a few lectures on that note from Purah. So Link can make a guess.)
Now though, Link pops it open. Taps at it, until he brings up the camera feature. And then leans in next to Donnie, making a waving gesture he does so.
Smile for your selfie, Donnie!
no subject
He blinks as Link leans closer, his first instinct being to move away, but once he realizes what Link's doing, he smiles somewhat awkwardly. Clearly he's never taken a selfie before
what a world.no subject
Regardless, with the picture now taken, Link drops his arm and steps back out of Donnie's personal space.
"Thank you," he says.
no subject
"You're welcome. Let me know if you need any adjustments or repairs, okay?"
no subject
And then Link says, "Bye," and darts off.
